Edna was born June 29, 1918, in Anaconda, MT, the daughter of Seraphim and Laura (Coursey) Solomon. She spent her early life and attended schools in Anaconda, graduating from Anaconda High School in 1936. She then attended Washington University in Seattle and Montana Normal School in Dillon, where she received her teaching certificate. On June 10, 1939, she married Edward Kastelitz in Anaconda. They lived in Basin, Townsend and Anaconda, MT, until settling in Livingston in 1947. Mr. Kasteliz died in December of 1997.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and loved all sports and crafts, especially crocheting. She was also an accomplished oil painter. Edna enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several local cards clubs.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Shirley) Kastelitz of Livingston and Ray Kastelitz of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Judith (Don) Bluhm of Lindstrom, MN; and Mary Beth (Brendon). Rohan of Butte, MT; a brother, Edmond Solomon, of Kalispell, MT; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one great-great grand daughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Loretta; and a grandchild.
