Primary election balloting sends four on to County Board races in Districts 1 and 3

Primary election balloting sends four on to County Board races in Districts 1 and 3

Primary balloting Tuesday at polling places all across the county resulted in bringing two incumbent county commissioners back to run in November. Lynn Schultz in District 1 will face off against Lora Walker for that county board seat in November. Bob Gustafson will be challenged by George McMahon.

In uncertified totals Schultz got 421 votes, Walker got 321. Others running in the primary were Veronica Korby with 60 votes and Randy Larson had 92.

In the other County Board primary Gustafson had 267 votes and McMahon had 608. The others in the primary were: Chris BuBose with 161, Curt Flug, 190, Jon Stignani had 193 votes and Johnathan Glassel got 77 votes.

The DFL senator primary was won by Al Franken with 1,361 county votes. Lord-Faris got 957 county votes as the next-closest primary DFL candidate.
