The Department of Public Safety has completed a special sex offender assessment of Jeffrey David Holmgren, Chisago City, and assigned him a Level III sex offender status. This triggers a public informational meeting under state law. The meeting has been set for Monday, September 22, at 6 p.m. at the Chisago City Community Center (by fire hall on Hwy. 8)

Holmgren, 37, has resided in Chisago City as an un-assessed offender. He moved to Minnesota after serving time for criminal sexual conduct in another state. His level assignment (based on how likely he is to re-offend) was done just in the last couple weeks.

Pursuant to Minnesota statutes an offender receiving the Level III determination allows for the public notification. The meeting is facilitated by the Minnesota Dept. of Corrections. The public is invited to listen and have their questions responded to at this meeting.
