Totino Grace 8, Chisago Lakes 0

The Totino Grace Eagles scored four goals in a five-minute span in the first half on their way to an 8-0 thrashing of the Wildcats Tuesday, September 16 at Totino Grace.

"Totino is a very good team and was able to take advantage of our mistakes," said Wildcat head coach Mark Leigh. "Several of our key players were sick or injured, but that's not why they dominated us so completely. We had over ninety turnovers. You can't play at a high level and expect to be successful with that many turnovers."

CL 2, Columbia Heights 2 (OT)

A lethargic, road-weary group of Wildcats tied Columbia Heights 2-2 Thursday, September 18 at Columbia Heights. Wildcat midfielder/forward Ian Johnson, recently returned from an injury, was re-injured and will likely miss the rest of the season.

A bad clearing attempt by the Wildcat defense in the first half resulted in a goal, and the Hylanders led 1-0 at the half.

The Wildcats came out of the locker room breathing fire, and scored two quick goals to go up 2-1. Cam Bouwens scored both goals on passes from Manny Cruceru. But later in the second half, a Wildcat defender fouled a Hylander player in the penalty area. The Hylanders converted the resulting penalty kick to tie the game 2-2.

"This was similar to the Denfeld game," said Leigh. "We didn't show much energy. I think the team is tired of playing all of their games on the road. We have, at most, one home game left the rest of the season. But that's not a good excuse. We may make a few changes to see if we can get something going."

The Wildcats play tonight (Thursday) at St. Francis at 5, and then head to St. Louis Park this Saturday at 1 p.m.
