Congratulations to the 4-H Senior Horse Bowl team for being the first senior team on records to receive a trip to state. Mandi Beckmann, Kayla Mack, Piper Schaapveld, and captain Tami Buus were awarded 5th out of 19 teams, but it was a close call. Five trips were awarded and the Foley regional competition and as they were packing up to head home they were advised to stay because they still had a chance. Waiting patiently with Coach Larry Beckmann the judge averaged the scores of Chisago and Wright County. There was a dead silence as the judge began to talk. Chisago ended up with an average of 73.33 points per round and Wright ended up with a close 69-point average. Theses scores told the Chisago girls and their coach they were going back to Foley High School for the state competition on April 18th. The junior horse bowl team also did extremely well placing sixth out of 15 teams. Samantha Mellum and Marissa Mellum had three new teammates being Anika Hansen, Sarah Plank, and Kayla Bruce to compete as the junior team.
