On March 28, 35 Chisago Lakes Middle School students presented their History Day projects at the regional competition at St. Cloud State University. The History Day program is a national program where students research a particular topic that fits a national theme; this year's theme is "The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies." Students are then able to present their research in numerous ways. Students may create a display board, perform a dramatic presentation, make a video or power point presentation, write a research paper, or develop a historical web page. Chisago Lakes Middle School had an extremely successful day, earning four honorable mention awards and 10 qualifiers for the State History Day competition. Advancing to the state competition Saturday, May 2 at the University of Minnesota: Thomasin Lee, Kevin Schmidt, Ryan Chambers, Natasha Terlinde, Caitlin Bjorgan, Jeremiah Jones, Hunter Thompson, Jacqueline Vitali, Viveka Amundson, Emmelie Dabill, Carlton Djam, Rachael Crowe, Sarah Crowe, Kara Herr, Erica Ristow, and Sam Forslund.
