William Horner

William Horner died peacefully at home after a six year battle with cancer. He was born December 9, 1923 in Davenport, Iowa. He grew up in Lindstrom and graduated from the high school in 1942. A World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, he flew C-47's in the Pacific and was on his way home to Lindstrom, on leave, when the war ended. He married Emmy Lou Darling, also a Lindstrom High School graduate, shortly after his return. A Boeing employee for 40 years, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, bowling, skiing, fishing, gathering with family and friends and in his prime, was a fine dancer.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; son, Gary (Sarah); daughter, Pat Starr (Mike Subert); stepdaughter, Terri DeLile (Mike); granddaughter, Lauren Horner; grandsons Kelsey Horner; Jonah-Kai Hancock; Ian and Taylor DeLile; nieces and nephews and grand-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances to VFW #2995, Honor Guard of American Cancer Society.

Service is Sunday, 1:30 p.m. Feb. 8, 2009 at VFW Hall, 4330 148th Ave. NE, Redmond, Washington 98052.
