Chisago Lakes High School art teacher Marlene Biondo will be supervising two Art Honor Society students as they teach an art class to sixth graders, starting in March.

Seniors Nicole Checkalski and Jenna Weiler will be teaching the art class in four sessions: Tuesdays, March 17, 24, 31 and April 7, 2:30-3:30 p.m.. All Chisago Lakes Middle School sixth graders who are interested in enrolling in the class can pick up registration forms from Biondo at the high school.

The two students will focus on completing at least two art projects during the class: acrylic texture painting and a clay pinch pot. If students complete their projects, there may be time for additional projects during the last session.

Biondo said the Art Honor Society students are excited about being able to offer the class, which will be a fundraiser for a CLHS scholarship.

Cost of the class is $50, which includes materials.

Students can bring payment and registration to the first class, but they must have written parental permission to ride the bus to CLHS on class days.
