The congregation of St. Bridget's Church hosts the Hannah's Arms outreach program one Saturday each month; where volunteers work with participants on homemaking skills like cooking and nutrition and they do crafts such as sewing or making small items for the home.

There's child care available and a lunch served.

The church's "Baby Blanket" program is also usually open in conjunction with Hannah's Arms and various other times. The Baby Blanket is where you can find donated items for infants and young children such as clothing, toys, equipment, etc. The program recycles approximately 40 to 60 cribs a year and about the same number of car seats and carriers. In 2008 about 400 mothers and children were helped by both programs. A church spokesperson stressed this is not just an outreach for teen mothers and that married couples are welcome.

The church is always looking for volunteers and speakers for Hannah's Arms. Financial donations are welcome.

The programs have been run by volunteers for 11 years.

See our schedule for programs upcoming. For more information or to volunteer contact St. Bridget's at 651-253-9556 or 257-8346 or see www.stbridgetsofsweden.org.
