Jerome Djam met with a group of Chisago Lakes Middle School students in December to discuss his home country of Cameroon, and to talk about cultural differences. In addition to speaking about school, housing and traditions in Cameroon, Mr. Djam brought traditional clothing for students to wear, led them in an African dance, and shared some African recipes with them. The visit was part of the Breakfast Club Enrichment Program, where volunteer speakers visit the school to share their knowledge, expertise or career paths with a small group of interested students. If you are interested in being a Breakfast Club speaker, please contact Katie Kimlinger, Enrichment Volunteer Coordinator, at (651)213-2014, or: [email protected]. This is a one-time, very enjoyable volunteer commitment.
