He was born on his family's farm south of Chisago City on September 21, 1912, to parents Minnie Palmquist Noren and George Noren. Ted was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City. His confirmation class was the last to be confirmed in the Swedish language. His formal education was completed at Chisago County School District 41.
He was united in marriage to Louraine Mae Anderson on June 17, 1939, at Zion Lutheran Church. Upon returning from their honeymoon, they moved to the Noren family farm home on south Green Lake, a 200 acre dairy farm with 78 holstein cows.
In 1960, they sold the farm and built a new home in Chisago City. Ted was an employee of Shafer Contracting for almost 10 years. He was also an avid hunter and angler. Ted enjoyed using his Swedish language while conducting tours for travelers visiting the Karl Oskar House, which was built by his great-grandfather Carl Linn.
Louraine and Ted traveled to Sweden twice, Alaska and Hawaii. They also took a two-month road trip across the country.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and George; step-mother Emma B. Johnson-Noren; his brothers Carl, Elmer, Leonard (Ruth Shelander Noreen), Herbert, and his sisters Alice (Reuben) Lunderberg, Anna Lunderberg, Esther (Edward) Lupien, and brother-in-law Maurice Strubbe.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Louraine Noreen from Chisago City, sister Evelyn Strubbe of Minneapolis and sister-in-law June Shelander Noren of Taylors Falls, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The service of memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 2, at Zion Lutheran where he was a life-long member. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Michael Peterson will officiate and interment will be in the spring, at South Green Lake Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church.
