There's still time to enter Lindstrom Loppet 5K
Because computer chip timing will be used, preregistration for the 3.1 mile event is strongly encouraged. Registration forms are now available at Fairview Chisago Lakes Clinic in Chisago City, Wally Carlson and Sons BP in Lindstrom and at the information desk at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming.
Advance registration fees are $10 for children age 13-and-under and $15 for those age 4-and-older. To qualify as advance registration, completed registration forms and payment must be dropped off at the above-mentioned locations no later than noon Thursday, July 9.
Day-of-event registration will be accepted from 7-7:45 a.m. on race day. The same-day entry fee is $20 for people over age 13 and $15 for children age 13-and-under. Anyone who registers after 7:45 a.m. July 11 cannot be guaranteed a race number or a computerized time.
This year's race once again begins and ends at Lakes Free Church (formerly called Chisago Lakes Evangelical Free Church) 29620 Olinda Trail, Lindstrom.
Participants of all ages are invited to walk or run in the event. Medals are awarded to males and females in ten age categories ranging from age 10-and-under to age 70-and-over as well as to the top male and female runners overall. Each entrant receives a Loppet T-shirt.
Proceeds of the Loppet are designated for health care scholarships and health promotion for young people. Last year's race raised more than $3,000. For more information, contact 651-257-8806.
