Chisago Lakes Middle School eighth grader Ali Fuller has won the Regional Spelling Bee contest for the second straight year (pictured above with the round's second place finisher, Tate Walquist of Princeton). Fuller was one of 26 spellers in the afternoon round of competition, held March 2 at St. John's University near St. Cloud. She correctly spelled seltzer to take first place in her round. She took home a trophy and Webster's Dictionary for her efforts. She now advances to the Multi-Region State Spelling Bee March 12 in Fergus Falls. The state winner has the opportunity to compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Also competing for Chisago Lakes in the Regional Bee were eighth grader Marcus Peterson and sixth grader Ali Saueressig. The Bee was administered by Resource Training & Solutions.
