Lonnie LeRoy Swenson, age 59 of Rush City died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at his residence.

Lonnie was born on May 13, 1949 in Minneapolis to Norris and Maxine (Peil) Swenson. He was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967. He married Bonnie Hansen on May 9, 1970 in Brooklyn Park. Lonnie served his country as a Seargent in the Air Force from 1968 to 1974 when he was honorably discharged. He worked as a molder for Progress Castings for 35 years. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, parents, Norris and Maxine Swenson of North Branch; daughter, Julie (Mike) Bauer of Sunrise; son, Jason (Renee) Swenson of Stanchfield; brother, Gary (Sue) Swenson of Cambridge and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin and Elizabeth Swenson and Pete and Viola Johnson.

Funeral services Monday, March 30, 2009 from Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Pastor Intern Mike Jacobson officiating. Music provided by Debra Aulich. Visitation Sunday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch from 5 -8 p.m. and at church one hour prior to the service. Serving as casketbearers were Joe Pace, Mark Piel, Justin Piel, Jacob Piel, Nick Andreotti and David Andreotti. Interment at Sunrise Cemetery at Sunrise.
