One of the student-athletes to be recognized was Josh Angrimson, a senior from Lindstrom. Angrimson has just helped to lead the Minnesota State Men's Golf team to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Men's Championship.
Angrimson recorded a score of 74-71-145, leaving him in 4th place overall. Angrimson has a 3.12 grade point average and is finance major.
The event took place in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom. The 54 Maverick Achievement Award winners passes the previous mark of 44 set by the 2006-07 class for the most honored at the Maverick Achievement Awards.
Over the past 23 years, the Maverick Achievement Awards program has sought to recognize true student-athletes at Minnesota State. Requirements for the award stipulate that recipients be seniors, letterwinners and have a grade point average of 3.00 or better entering their senior year of competition. Since 1986-87, 718 student-athletes have been honored.
