Dale L. Lindblom
Dale was born September 27, 1925 in Taylors Falls to Ernest and Anna (Swenson) Lindblom. He was raised in the Almelund area and attended the Almelund school through the 8th grade. Dale went to work farming and also drove a milk truck for the Almelund Creamery. He was also a North Branch School Bus Driver for many years.
Dale married Evadean Norelius in 1952. Evadean died in March 1985. Dale married Betty Gleason on January 30, 1987 in Almelund.
Dale served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Dale loved playing cards and watching sports of all kinds especially baseball. Dale played for the Almelund fast pitch team "The Night Owls." back in the 40's and 50's. He loved animals, and his many dogs he had over the years on the farm.
Dale is survived by wife, Betty; sons, Gregg (Pam) Lindblom of North Branch and Randy (Terry) Lindblom of Scandia; grandchildren, Heather (Tyler) Textor, Keri (John) Bergstrom and Trevor (Moriah) Lindblom; great grandchildren Joshua, Kellen, Izak and Taylor. He is also survived by three stepsons, numerous step grandchildren and 30 great step grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Dale is preceded in death by first wife, Evadean; sisters, Irene Reese and Beatrice Bjork.
Funeral services Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 1 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Brian Bergin officiating. Music by Pat Remer as organist and Jon Ekstrom as soloist.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at church on Wednesday. Interment in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the North Branch American Legion and VFW. Serving as casketbearers John Peterson, Steve Peterson, Trevor Lindblom, Robert Cedergren, Bob Vande Kamp and Gary Kvistberg
Memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church Organ fund.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Villages of North Branch and the Wild River Unit for their care and support given to Dale.
