The crews from Midwest Testing are working throughout the city of Lindstrom installing the new remote-read water meters (photo). Barring any unusual circumstances getting in the way, the change out takes less than five minutes. There is no bill for the meter replacement, the city is using its sewer and water account and has issued bonds for the project.

Lindstrom contracted with Midwest Testing after getting bids for the citywide install. Lindstrom spokesperson Carrie Lesnau said the goal is to have all meters replaced by the end of June. The quarterly water/sewer billing period ends at that time, and this would make the billing switchover to the new procedure seemless.

Lesnau reminds Lindstrom residents the city advised them of a phone number to make an appointment with the meter crews, or installation teams may just show up at your door as they change out meters in the city.
