Winfred M. Tollberg
Winfred was born March 5, 1927 in Kost, MN, to Herbert and Judith Tollberg. He grew up on the family farm and attended grades 1-8 at the Kost School. He went on to graduate from North Branch High School in 1945. On March 29, 1952, he married Dorothy Brasser.
Winfred was a lifelong farmer and continued to work his farm until 2008 when declining health led him to retire. He also drove school bus for the North Branch School District for over 30 years, eventually serving as transportation director until his retirement in 1985.
Winfred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy, his seven children; Dick (Diane) Tollberg, Cary, IL, Sandy (Randy) Ahlberg, Brainerd, MN, Judy Tollberg, Buffalo Grove, IL, Dave (Patsy) Tollberg, North Branch, MN, Becky Tollberg, Lindstrom, MN, Brian (Lori) Tollberg, North Branch, MN, Annette (Bruce) Knudson, Somerset, WI, and 20 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Latimer (Dorothy Ann) Tollberg, his sisters Dolores Tollberg and Adys (Bill) Buroker, and nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Muriel and her husband Ivan Beal.
Services Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at the Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, MN with Rev. Ric Stanghelle officiating. Burial in Kost Cemetery, Kost, MN.
Arrangements were with Grandstrand Funeral Home, Lindstrom.
