St. Louis Park 7, Chisago Lakes 0

Coming into this match, the Wildcats knew they were going to have their plates full.

The Orioles are unbeaten in conference play, and they have steamrolled nearly every team they've played.

Although Chisago Lakes was swept, that didn't tell the whole story as most of the matches were back-and-forth battles between the individual Wildcats and Orioles.

"All four singles players played really well," Head Coach Steve Otte said. "They are doing a better job of keeping the ball deep in the court and moving it into the corners. Ali Turnquist has really improved her angles on the court and Kailee Carlson is working her way to the net to end points sooner."

All three doubles teams also played well against some strong teams, but they couldn't pull out any points in the end.

Chisago Lakes 7, Fridley 0

"We were ready for this one, and got off to a very quick start against the Tigers," Otte explained after his team's sweep over Fridley.

The match was only played on four courts, and it was played in reverse order, so first singles, first doubles and second singles all had to wait for matches to end to begin theirs.

That worked to the Wildcats' favor, though, when they swept the first four matches and there was no pressure on the remaining three girls.

Kelsy Braski and Claire Bakken were the first 'Cats to clear a spot on the court when the breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Carlson followed quickly after them with a 6-2, 6-1 trouncing over her Fridley counterpart.

Ashley Paul and Jackie Vitali didn't have as smooth of sailing as the first two winners, but they still won in pretty convincing fashion, downing Fridley's first doubles team 6-3, 6-4.

Shannon Sullivan earned a big win when she moved the ball well against her opponent. She won by scores of 6-1, 6-3.

First singles and first doubles were finally able to hit the court, and almost as fast as they stepped on the court, they stepped off with easy victories.

Ali Mohr was the last Wildcat to finish of her opponent, winning 6-3, 6-3 at second singles.
