Lakes Area Police are working with other counties in a case of suspects creating and cashing fraudulent checks, involving a Chisago City business account. Three suspects were booked here March 25 and held on warrants from other jurisdictions. More details will be released once charges are developed.

March 24 a Stacy area woman was transported with a head injury after a vehicle went into the ditch, off County Road 30 near the cemetery, north of Stacy; reported about 7 p.m.

Many grass fires have been reported and officials anticipate more this week. The burn restrictions are being enforced, no debris burning is being allowed until green-up. March 23 Harris firefighters went to Gopher Avenue about 1 p.m. At 2:20 p.m. Chisago City and Lindstrom were called out to Lofton Ave. March 25 a Shafer area resident was cited for prohibited burning, when four fire departments were dispatched about 11:25 a.m. to Quinlan Avenue in Franconia Township.

Around noon March 26 Chisago City firefighters went to a Wallmark Lake area residence where a grassfire was reported. Another grass fire was called in about 4:15 p.m. in Nessel off Rush Lake Trail.

March 28 Rush City firefighters went to an address on Game Ave. in Rushseba Township about 4 p.m. March 29 two grass fires were reported in the general Hwy. 8 corridor, (Heath Ave. and on at 250th) between Forest Lake and Chisago City.
