"This course is never our favorite," Head Coach Jeanne Hawkinson stated after the Wildcats struggled through the St. Francis course.
Besides junior Aubrey Lawlor, who had been struggling up until this meet, the 'Cats had a tough time carding low scores. Lawlor fired a season-low 52 at the course and Rachel Swanson shot a decent 54, but after that, Maddie Howard had a 58 and Amanda Engelbrekt shot a 60. The 'Cats shot a 224, which was over 40 strokes off of the 180-stroke pace set by Irondale.
Bunker Hills - 18 holes
From the get go, the girls struggled at Bunker Hills, and Hawkinson knew right away it was going to be a long day. "The girls were struggling, but it's just one more way to learn about ourselves and our games," she said.
Swanson led the way for the girls first 18-hole meet of the season, shooting a 109. Katie Nelson and Howard were just behind with a 114 and 116, respectively. Lawlor rounded out the varsity scoring with a 120.
Irondale again won the meet, as the Knights have not been bested by a North Suburban Conference team yet this year.
