Wolf Creek Online High School offered Visiting Artist Course for credit this summer
Through the artist in residence program, Wolf Creek was able to give students an opportunity to work with an artist on campus, to participate in a larger community project, and to learn about and work in a medium that most schools do not typically offer. Students met weekly on campus for five weeks and worked with artist, Kunin to better their understanding of paper arts and the creative process. Each week students focused on a different aspect of paper art, giving the students a solid overview of the subject: papermaking, printmaking, paper molding, book binding, and paper collage. Because paper arts frequently requires two sets of hands, much of the work was collaborative and gave students a chance to meet and work with other students they may not have otherwise known.
A reception, open to the public, will be August 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. to share the project with the community and celebrate the students' hard work.
