Edsel F. Johnson, age 91, of Scandia, passed away peacefully at September Cottage Eldercare in Scandia; December 10, 2010.

He is survived by wife, Mignon; children, Dianne Johnson (Gene Hallberg), Kristen Lindberg (James) and Scott C. Johnson (Jan); five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Carrel Wensman of Alexandria, MN.

Edsel graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. He then served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII stationed in Saipan when the war ended. Edsel served as President of the Security State Bank for many years, a charter member of the Scandia Marine Lions Club; a lifetime member of Elim Lutheran Church serving on its board and singing in the choir. He was instrumental in making the Scandia Senior Housing Project a reality.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17 at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake. Memorial Service 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia, MN with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials preferred to Elim Lutheran Church or Gammelgarden Museum, in Scandia.
