On Thursday January 28th, in a meet against Columbia Heights the North Branch gymnastics team stuck nearly all of their routines en route to a school record.

They won the meet 134.025-112.80. Last season, the Vikings broke the record of 130 by scoring a 133, but not to let this season go un-noted, they broke it again, and it stands at 134.025

They swept almost all of the top spots against the overmatched Hylanders.

In varsity vault, Ariana Olson finish first, Kassie Salo finished second and Sammy Jannings finished in third place. On bars, Salo, Olson and Bayley Ertl went one-two-three

The beam was the only event that a Hylander made a top three appearance. Olson finished first, Bekka Kelly of CHHS finished second and Salo finished third.

On the floor exercise, Olson, Salo and Ertl had another top three sweep between them.

In the all-around scores, Olson, Salo and Ertl went one-two-three again.

In the process of setting the overall team record, Olson broke a few records with her astounding performance. She now holds the new school record on balance beam with a 9.05, and a new record for all-round total with a 35.275

Brittany Symanietz, her first meet junior varsity meet, placed second in the all-around, just behind teammate Tayler Fertig.

The girls had senior night this week, where they honored senior captains Darbi Berkman and Jannings.
