Give your support to Hats for Haiti; a student-led fundraiser at CLHS
A "Hats for Haiti" Day is planned for Friday, March 26. Students who donate $1 or more may wear a hat during school that day. Normally hats are disallowed under the dress code.
Students are planning additional activities to garner more support and participation, for example including prizes for the most outstanding hats.
In addition, community members or businesses who wish to make donations may stop by the high school office before March 26. The students welcome any organization to offer to match high school donations to provide even more support for the people of Haiti. Checks should be payable to The American Red Cross.
In addition, several students have spent a great deal of time and effort to further this project. Ashlyn Hartung has designed a poster to advertise the event. Lauren Weiler is working on a PowerPoint Presentation to inform students of the disaster, various relief efforts, and conditions and needs as they exist today. CLHS students are learning what it takes to make the world a better place one step at a time, or perhaps, one hat at a time.
