The Vallee de Croix chorus announces the hiring of Derek Glenna as Interim Director. Glenna has a rich musical background, singing since the age of three. His mother sang in a women's barbershop chorus and his grandfather sang in a quartet and directed a chorus for many years. As a child, he fell asleep to the sounds of four-part harmony, which helps explain his natural ability and aural skills.

While attending Chisago Lakes High School, Glenna received two first place medals singing in quartets. He began his first real directing position at the age of 17 and has been a guest director for many area choruses. Currently, he directs the Mankato Riverblenders, a men's barbershop chorus that took first place at the Southwest Division competition, outscoring the second place chorus by over 100 points. His quartet, Grand Design, was awarded both quartet champion and novice quartet champion medals. While only 25 years old, Glenna has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 16 years.
