Boys
Senior Riley Myers was the highest finishing Wildcat at the tournament, earning a spot as an honor roll qualifier with a 6'0" leap for a second place finish in the long jump. Junior Alex Vitalis came in third in the pole vault. One of the Wildcats' brightest stars of the future, eighth-grader Andrew Magnuson, continued his amazing season by finishing fifth in the two-mile run. Senior Brad Johnson ended his conference career with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meter run and speedy junior Cory Lushanko finished fifth in the 100 meter dash and sixth in the 200 meter dash.
Girls
Freshman Kaylee Ryan matched her male counterpart, Andrew Magnuson, with a second place finish in the two mile run, which also earned her a sport as an honor roll qualifier. Sophomore Zoe Hansen was also an honor roll qualifier, finishing fourth in the triple jump. No other Wildcat girl finished higher than eighth for the tournament.
The Wildcats will tune up for next week's section tournament with a trip to North Branch for a dual meet against the Vikings today starting at 4 p.m. The Wildcats will host this year's section meet. Preliminaries start at 11 a.m. next Wednesday, June 2 and finals will take place on Saturday, June 5, also starting at 11 a.m.
