With their season completed for a few weeks now, the North Branch tennis team announced all of their awards at the annual team banquet last week.

Although North Branch didn't have a ton of success on the court, they always excel in the classroom, usually reigning as the North Suburban Conference Academic champions. However, this year, St. Francis wrested that away from them, as NB missed out by .040 grade-point average points.

The team also achieved the academic all state gold standard as well. Only Seniors are given the academic awards in the conference and at the state level. Nine academic all conference and five academic all state selections on a team that has ten players on a varsity squad made Head Coach Tom McLaughlin very happy.

Among the award winners for academics were All-Conference Academic winners Whitney Jackson, Ashley Holscher, Katie Munns, Kelcee Archer, Emily Ziegler, Katherine Helbig, Alexa Berthiaume, Emily Rollins and Chlesey Gamer.

As for on the court, the Vikings got three awards for their tennis performance. Ziegler, Munns and Helbig all earned All-NSC Honorable Mention for their skills and results this year.
