Sandy was born on September 11, 1946 in Minneapolis to Robert and Anna (Thompson) Fleisher. Her family later moved to the Waubun area where she attended school. She attended 916 Tech School where she received her degree in IT Technology. Sandy worked at Hazelden as an IT Tech for over 25 years. She loved old country music while driving her red Monte Carlo. She loved to setup at the antique shows and flea markets as well as going to garage sales. She was often seen wearing her purple heels when the Vikings played. Her favorite pastime was finding the perfect clothes for the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She truly was the "Queen" of the deal! Finding the best bargain and seeing them worn always made her smile. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, beautiful friend and wild sister. She always listened and never judged. Sandy was always able to make everyone laugh and her own vivacious laugh shall forever be remembered.
Sandy is survived by her children, Duane LaChapelle of North Branch, Marti Clifford of North Branch, Corinna LaChapelle of North Branch, Traci LaChapelle of Turtle Lake, WI and Tony (Amanda) LaChapelle of Harris, 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Hugo) Mertens of Valley Springs, S.D., Barbara Blodgett of Omaha, NE, Cathy (Steve) Elsen of Maple Plain and Brenda (Matt) Haak of Minneapolis and many many wonderful friends.
