Betty was born April 18, 1931 in Madison, Wisconsin to Wilbert and Clara (Schildt) Edler. She moved with her family at an early age to the Dresser, Wisconsin area where she attended school through the 10th grade. She worked a short time at a sewing factory in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin before getting married to Lowell Sellman on June 17, 1950 at Deronda, Wisconsin. Betty loved sewing and knitting and tending to her garden. Betty was a homemaker and longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Almelund.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell and her four children, Steve (Cindi) Sellman of Almelund, Bruce Sellman of North Branch, Connie Sellman of Lindstrom and Lynn (Jeff) Messenger of New Ulm; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and her sister, Lorene Millermon of Amery, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Clara; brothers, Don, Charles, and Russell Edler and sisters, Erma Marquand and Ruby Thompson.
Funeral services Saturday, September 18, 2010 from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Brian Bergin officiating. Organist, Pat Remer with the congregation singing Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art. Serving as casket bearers: Corey Sellman, Chad Burnside, Stacy Burnside, Richard Millerman, Gary Marquand and Wayne Hanson. Interment was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
