Bob was born on May 9, 1944 at St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Wallace and Shirley (Cain) Williams. Bob had been ill the past three years with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. He received a living Donor Transplant from his daughter-in-law, Sandi November 9. Surgery was a success but complications occurred five days later which he was unable to overcome. He was very grateful to Sandi for her amazing gift.
Bob spent his entire career in the construction industry and was a member of IUOE Local #49. He loved his work and made many life long friends. He was a Vietnam Veteran having enlisted in 1966 in the Navy Seebees. He spent a year in DaNang with the NSA. Twenty four years later he began a quest to find as many of his "brothers" as possible and the current number found stands at 79. They meet every two years for a reunion.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jo; sons, D. Kit of Hugo; Charles "Chip" of Harris and Travis (Sandi) of North Branch; grandchildren, Miranda, Melinda and Trevor. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Todd; his parents and his sister, Vonnie.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at the Shafer Town Hall. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
