After their season opening win over Four Directions Charter School, pretty much nothing has gone right for the North Branch boys basketball team.

After dropping three straight blowouts, the Vikings added another to their run with a 41-point drubbing by Concordia Academy.

The Beacons, who ran their win streak to three with the victory over North Branch, doubled up the Vikings in the first half, leading 44-22 at the buzzer.

In the second half, North Branch was only able to score 14 points, their lowest output of any half this season, while Concordia kept piling the points up.

"Tonight we did not play up to the level we have been trying to get to," Head Coach David Anderson said. "Our guys gave a good effort and we showed a lot of hustle and spirit, but we just did not have enough to keep up with a good Concordia team."

Point guard Travis VanElsberg led the Vikings in scoring with eight points. Cody Knobbe had seven and Thomas Kinsella and Tyler Knobbe add five points each.

"Our guys have been working very hard and have been focusing on the process of improving each and every game. We have been trying to implement several new aspects to our system and our guys have done a good job adjusting to them but it takes some time," Anderson explained. "I am extremely confident that our guys will continue to work hard each day in practice and continue to test themselves and play every game with a high level of energy and passion."
