Jay was born November 7, 1964 to George and Darlene Anton in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. He lived all his live on a farm in Kost where he grew up. On August 11, 2007, he married his best friend Kathy. Jay was a skilled carpenter learning this trade from his father. This is evident in the workmanship shown in the farm house he built. Jay loved to spend time with his best friend and wife, Kathy fishing, being with his grandchildren, and playing with his beloved cocker spaniel, Buddy.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathy; his daughter Bobbi (Jonathan) Welzel of Ann Arbor, MI; step-children Stephanie (Marlo) Eklund of Forest Lake, Tom Eklund of Forest Lake, Heather (James) Beckman of North Branch and Laura (Nick) Beckman of North St. Paul, as well as his grandchildren; Angel, Kaydin, Chase, Brielle, and Anthony. Also surviving are his mother Darlene Anton-Heilig and step father Herb Heilig of North Branch; brothers and sisters Sandy (Randy) Lindemeier of Willmar, Dale (Kim) Anton of Huntsville, AL, Kevin (Sue) Anton of North Branch, Jim Heilig of Forest Lake, Tom Heilig of North Branch, Susan (Perry) Humble of North Branch, Jon (Yvette) Heilig of Lindstrom and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Anton, brother Scott, and grandparents Arnold and Alice Anton, and Emil and Georgia Nelson.
Funeral services 10 a.m. Friday, July 22 at Kost Evangelical Free Church at Kost with Rev. Dale Paulson officiating. Music provided by Marlys Christensen and Jon Ekstrom. Interment at Kost Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers, John Lindemeier, Josh Lindemeier, Tyler Anton, Michell Anton, Colin Anton, Zakry Humble, Scott Anton and Travis Heilig. Honorary casket bearers Kenneth Anton and Daniel Carlson.
Visitation Thursday, July 21 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch from 5-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.
