Preceded in death by brothers and sisters. Survived by wife Marilyn; children Emil (Carol Lee), Carl (Jackie), Mark, and Margaret (John) Hughes; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Margaret Theis; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, June 14, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Franconia Township. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at St. Francis Church Cemetery.
Born September 20, 1929 in Iona MN the eighth of nine children born to James and Margaret Folsom. He was raised in a farm family, settling in Hector MN around 1940. He later moved to the Twin Cities and worked at the Ford Motor plant in St. Paul. He met his future wife Marilyn Alich and they were married at St. Matthews Catholic church. Leo and Marilyn raised their family of three sons and a daughter on the West Side of St. Paul, until moving to Lindstrom in 1976. The family lived on South Center Lake until 1987, when they built their current home in Franconia Township. Leo worked as a truck driver until returning to farming and retired in 1985. He loved to farm and enjoyed it throughout his later years, he was a farmer through and through loving the land and a simple country life.
