His last day working for Chisago County is April 29.
Moosey said his new job will provide new challenges and he will get to tackle issues having to do with operations he is very interested in, seaports and ferry boats. He anticipates there'll be resources more readily available in Alaska and more activity in general, providing capital projects and opportunities to expand his professional skills. He and his wife Michelle have two grown children, they currently live in North Branch, where Moosey was city administrator.
Moosey was hired eight years ago to be the Chisago County Administrator upon the resignation of Jim Thoreen.
The commissioners did not discuss what needs to be done over the next six weeks as far as replacing Moosey. They each, however, took a moment to thank him for his leadership steering Chisago county through waves of state and federal aid cuts these past few years.
