North Branch bowlers nab second place at state tourney in Eden Prairie
There were 11 teams at Brunswick Bowling Center vying for the championship and North Branch bowlers finished behind only St. Paul Highland Park.
Adapted Bowling Coach John Grund said during the season there were 21 teams competing statewide. Congratulations to the North Branch PI Team of Alana Stahley, Tayler Dyrda, Iman Omar and Chelsea Knutson.
The high score in the P-I individual competition for North Branch was earned by Charles Otto, who took an 8th place medal. In girls' singles Stahley finished 14th.
The P-I doubles competition featured Knutson and Dyrda finishing in ninth place. Omar and Otto made up the other doubles team and they came in 12th.
The second division in the adapted bowling program is C-I and involves students with a cognitive impairment.
In C-I singles the high score for North Branch was posted by bowler Trevor Klein, who came in 11th. This area had an amazing 83 boys competing, Coach Grund said.
The CI Division "doubles" event had 69 entrants. Cheyenne Underdahl and Abigail Cook took 39th place. Finishing 54th were Braulio Diaz and Aaron Wahlstrom.
The CI full team scoring landed North Branch in 10th place, members Diaz, Klein, Ashley Cook and Ashley Novack; and 18th place for team members Tony Underdahl, Matt Rogers, Wahlstrom and Abigail Cook.
