Friday, May 20th, just before it started raining -- again -- the Chisago Lakes Community Education Elementary Track Meet took place on the Chisago Lakes High School Track. Students from the Primary School, Lakeside Elementary, Taylors Falls, and the North Branch Elementary Track Club, a total of 150 kids, all gathered for good competition on the track and in the field events.

The track clubs met at each elementary school in afterschool classes to train for the event, and then these kids came to the high school track for the track event.

Events like the 50 meters dash, hurdles, long jump, and shot put took place during the evening and ribbons were distributed liberally following each event.

The event is a good opportunity for elementary students to experience track and field in a convenient after school setting. A special thanks to the Chisago Lakes High School Track Team for sending volunteers to the event.
