Sharon was born August 15, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents, Timothy and Dorothy (Berry) Kirby. She moved at an early age with her family to California where she attended school and graduated from Mary Mount High School in Palos Verdes. She would attend USC for two years before joining the Army. After serving in the Army she joined the Air Force where she met her future husband, Robert. They were married in 1962 at the Barksdale Air Force Chapel in Louisiana. Sharon moved back to California while Robert continued his military duties. In 1967 they moved to Minnesota and settled in Taylors Falls. They purchased their farm in 1968 and that has been Sharon’s home ever since.
Sharon worked at the Taylors Falls School first as a secretary and later as librarian, a job she truly loved. Sharon loved to read, watch college football games especially her Notre Dame Fighting Irish, volunteer at blood drives, her church and also do the readings for Sunday Mass. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taylors Falls.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Stephanie Beaulieu and Shannon (Ron) Mossman; sons, Robert (Mary) Madison and Sam (Jenny) Madison; her 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt, Bertha and uncle, Tony.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Aug. 16 at the Church of St. Joseph in Taylors Falls. The family will greet friends on hour prior to the service. Private interment in Kahbakong Cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home – Edling Chapel.
