Storm activity leaves many without power, one house lost
High winds and strom activity that blew through Chisago County Monday night- into early Tuesday morning; may have caused a house fire north of Lindstrom, believed sparked by a lightning strike. The storm certainly left about 107 Chisago County residents without power early Tuesday, according to the power company. Xcel Energy reports the local outages are along a line from just east of I-35 through Lent Township to Almelund. Addresses without power are located mostly along 375th and Kost Trail. Xcel reminds you to call 9-1-1 if there’s an emergency related to loss of power, otherwise call Xcel at 1-800-895-1999 to report power outages. As of noon Tuesday, Firefighters with Almelund, Lindstrom, North Branch and Center City were still on site at the residence fire. No personal injury had been reported by EMS team members standing by at mid-day.
