Lake Area Bank held-up, robber nabbed immediately

Lakes Area Police made an arrest shortly after a call of a bank robbery in progress at Lake Area Bank, Monday morning, July 9. Lakes Area Chief of Police Kevin Stenson said there was an officer responding to the dispatch alert, and the officer noticed a man in downtown, fitting the description of the robber and the arrest was made without incident. Being held is John Manthey, 63, of Lindstrom. Bank employees said the robber entered the bank and took an undisclosed sum from a teller and fled on foot about 9:30 a.m. The cash was recovered in the arrest.
