Storm left many without electricity

High winds and strom activity that blew through Chisago County early last week may have caused a house fire north of Lindstrom, believed sparked by a lightning strike, picture below. The storm certainly was the reason about 107 Chisago County residents were without power Tuesday, according to the power company. Xcel Energy reported that the local outages were along a line from just east of I-35 through Lent Township to Almelund. Addresses without power are located mostly along 375th and Kost Trail. Xcel reminds you to use the 9-1-1 service only if there’s an emergency related to loss of power, otherwise call Xcel at 1-800-895-1999 to report power outages. No personal injury was reported at the house off Kost Trail. Firefighters and rigs with North Branch, Stacy-Lent, Lindstrom, Almelund and Center City were at the fire.
