LeRoy W. Hawkins

LeRoy W. Hawkins, age 88, of Chisago City, MN passed away peacefully on July 13, 2012 at Parmly Life Pointes. He was born on August 23, 1923 in Taylors Falls to parents Hjalmer and Alma Hawkins. He spent most of his life in the Chisago Lakes area where he worked for many years for the Chisago City Creamery hauling milk. He also spent time working as a mechanic and doing construction work. LeRoy’s passion was for tinkering with all kinds of cars, tractors and any type of engine at his hobby farm in rural Chisago City. In earlier years LeRoy spent time at his cabin near Kingsdale, MN where he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Pearl Smith, Louise - Carollee Hemming, Blanche Hawkins, and infant brothers Delvin Hawkins and Benny Hawkins. Survived by nieces and nephews Charles (Melody) Johnson, Mounds View, MN Judy (Donald) Marxhausen, Highlands Ranch, CO, Sherri Lee Scrouff, Seattle, WA, Kory Hemming Seattle, WA and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN with visitation one hour before the service.
