Carl W. 'Cully' Hawkinson

Carl W. “Cully” Hawkinson, age 90 of Chisago City, Minnesota, passed away March 18, 2012.

Cully was born July 9, 1921 on the family farm in Chisago City to parents August and Caroline Hawkinson.  He married Winsome H. Skog on September 24, 1950.  Cully loved to turkey and deer and trap.  He enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins and Gophers and kept up with the local high school sports.  He farmed most of his life and did road construction and worked at the Arsenal.  He spent the last three years at Vindauga View Assisted Living in Chisago City.  

Cully is preceded in death by his wife Winsome.  He is survived by children Douglas (Margaret), John (La Dema), Alan (Julie), Grace (Dennis) Peterson, and Carolyn (Dwane) Franklin; Grandchildren Denise, Sandy, David, Leonne, Bobby, Cathy, Dejah, Beau, Caleb, and Paige;  several great grandchildren; other relatives & friends.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, also one hour prior to the service at church on Sunday.  Funeral Service 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City.  Interment at South Green Lake Cemetery in Chisago City.  Condolences may be left online at www.grand strandfh.com.
