Tuesday, May 9 students from all over the state were at the Minnesota state capitol to honor the winners of this year’s essay contest. Wolf Creek Online High School was represented, which was quite an accomplishment based on the fact that this year 1,857 Minnesota Charter Public School students submitted essays. The contest was created in 2007 by the Center for School Change to encourage students to write and share their stories. This year students were asked to describe a book that helped change their lives in some way. Wolf Creek student Shundiin Green, grade 10, shared her essay in front of a large audience at the state capitol. Shundiin’s family and school faculty members were present to celebrate this achievement. A special thanks to Sean Miller, teacher at Wolf Creek, or organizing this contest for Wolf Creek students.
