Chisago County Sheriff’s Office held an appreciation banquet for jail volunteers. The Chisago County Jail has 57 volunteers who provide services to the inmate population including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Wings to Freedom, Bible Study, Chaplin Visits, Parenting Class, Victory Over Addiction, Teen Challenge, Pilot Outreach, Re-entry / Release Planning, Celebrate Recovery, and Spiritual Counseling. Sheriff Rick Duncan thanked all the volunteers for their selfless efforts in creating a better community by encouraging and enlightening the jail population. Captain Brandon Thyen and Assistant Jail Administrator Chris Thoma read letters of appreciation written by current and former inmates explaining how the volunteers have impacted their lives. Program Coordinator Roger Wood, who oversees all of the jail volunteers, made arrangements for the banquet and served as Master of Ceremony. Each volunteer received a certificate of appreciation. In addition, Linda Mossbarger received her 5 year of service pin.
