Tulida H. Blackford

Tulida H. Blackford Retired Registered Nurse, age 85, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 28, 2012. Preceded in death by husband Rev. John C. Blackford, parents Arnold and Laura Klein and sister Laurine (Rollin) Nelson. Survivors include her four children, Rebecca (Kenath or Skip), James (Judith), Elizabeth (Paul), and Joel; grandchildren Michele (Timothy), Ken III, Charles, Jennifer (Heath Bredeson - fiancé), John James, Ben, John Evan, Scott, Meghan, Jacob and great grandchildren Zachary, Nicholas, and Anna. Also survived by brothers Alan (Joanne – deceased) Klein and Phillip (Shirley) Klein, sister Phyllis (Douglas) Kerr brother-in-law Rollin (Laurine - deceased) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Tulida was a steadfast, faithful Christian who selflessly supported her husband’s ministry in the United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Tulida loved the Lord our God with all her heart, soul and might. Tulida was a wonderful wife and mother and was so loved by her family and friends and her strong, consistent presence will be missed. She is now in the loving arms of God and she is waiting for all of us to join her and her beloved husband John someday in heaven, in eternal praise of our Lord and Savior. All praise and glory be to God from whom all good things come. Amen! A visitation will be held Friday, June 1, at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN from 4 p.m. until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be the next day at Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Forest Lake, MN (Saturday, June 2, 2012) with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m. There will be a lunch immediately following the 11 a.m. funeral service, and then a private interment service for family members will be held at Methodist Cemetery in Center City, MN. Memorials are preferred to Forest Hills United Methodist Church in the name of Tulida H. Blackford, and will be given to the John C. Blackford Red Rock Camp Scholarship fund.
