Local students place in National Merit Scholarship program
Principal Dave Ertl, of Chisago Lakes High School, presented the Commended National Merit Scholarship awards to five scholastically talented seniors on Wednesday, October 3rd. These students; Riley Frost, Marcus Peterson, Rebekah Meyer, Molly Sandstrom, and Taylor Streitz, received a Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2013 competition for National Merit Scholarships, these Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMQST).
