Wild Mountain 1st in Nation

Wild Mountain is proud to announce that they opened for skiing and snowboarding on Oct. 7th, 2012, making them the first area in North America to be open. This is the second time that they have had the honor of being the first area in the Nation. The first time was in 1992, when they opened Oct. 18th. They have been the first area open in the Midwest for the past 35 years. “That is always our goal each season, but it is really fun to receive the distinction to be the first area in North America,” Wild Mountain’s Amy Frischmon said. The Taylors Falls hillside was even featured on Monday’s edition of ABC’s Nightly News for being the first in the nation to open.
