Raymond M. Holmquist

Raymond M. Holmquist, of Shafer, died Monday September 3 at Osceola Medical Center, at the age of 81. Ray was born February 3, 1931 near Taylors Falls to Aaron and Esther Holmquist. He graduated from ChiHi in 1949. On April 12, 1958 he married Carrie Andrewson at Chisago Lake Lutheran in Center City. He farmed all of his life. He served at the Treasurer of the Shafer Creamery for many years. He loved to farm and in his free time he enjoyed his family and coffee and conversation with friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Esther, foster parents Arthur and Ruth Bolander, and sister Joyce Nicklason. He is survived by his wife Carrie Ann, sons Larry of Eagan, Dr. Lonnie of Lindstrom, and niece Cheryl Nicklason. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday September 7th at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.
