Karmel Covenant Church and Family Pathways hold social respite gathering
Family Pathways Social Respite Gatherings offered horse and buggy rides provided by local residents, Harold and Anna Anderson, and gathering participants enjoyed the treat. Gathering participants are older adults, age 60+, who are living independently and have a full-time caregiver. Karmel Covenant Church has partnered with Family Pathways for four years to host social respite Gatherings. Senior citizens attend structured social time and their caregivers get some much- needed respite from the demands and stresses of full-time caregiving. The Gatherings are held twice monthly in several communities: Braham, Dalbo, Lindstrom, and Pine City, and are provided at no-charge to clients who are 60 years or older, living independently, and who have a full-time caregiver. Adolph who has been attending the Gathering for many years said “it was the trip of a lifetime.” And, Doris, also said “what an experience and I loved it; it made my day.” These rides brought back many memories and sparked a lot of reminiscing. To get more information or to volunteer at the Gathering please call Debbie at Family Pathways at 763-225-9277. Family Pathways Senior Services also provides Companionship, Advocacy and Educational programming fr Seniors 60 + in the counties of Chisago, Isanti, Pine, Kanabec, and Mille Lacs counties.
